On August 29th 1998 our illustrious Roadster Reporter found himself
in Austin, Texas. After attending Longhorn Corvette Club's Austin Corvette Day;
now we understand; why everyone is moving to Austin !!!

Austin Corvette Day hosted it's 3rd Annual Corvette show for the benefit of Make-A-Wish Foundation. A charitable organization; that raises money for children with various forms of terminal cancer. This year the event raise over $20,000 for the Foundation.
The event was mired by the rain delay of Tropical Storm Charley; therefore, it had to be put off until the subsequent weekend of the 29th. Fortunately, Texas weather prevailed, and the event enjoyed an enormous turn out. There were in excess of 160 corvettes of all year shapes, and models. The above captions models were furnished through the Texas Bikini Team. Visit their website at www.TEXASBIKINI.com . Please pass on the Roadster's admiration to Dawn, and Roxanne.
While temporally distracted, the Roadster could only marvel at the extent of corvette compassion.

The Texas Public Department of Transportation estimated 8,000 people in attendance. This event is Central Texas' largest and only corvette event. Much thanks was extended to Rudy's Bar-B-Q for it's fine eats and cold drinks.

Check out this beautiful 1962 Roadster. I could justify a vette like this. Hey, look and it's for sale. Wonder how much he wants for it? Check out VOTN Classifieds!

Vettes on the Net, and The Roadster Report would like to recognize the efforts of all those who contributed their time and effort. Unfortunately, we were only able to capture a few. The above pictured are members of Longhorn Corvette Club. They include: (L to R) Mike Johnston, Secretary; Alan Waters, President; and Jim Reynolds, Executive Committee.

Unfortunately, we were unable to get the names of all the contributors!!
Maybe next year; hope to see you there.
